How to preserve left over wine? Vacuum system

How to preserve your wine once it’s opened?

There are some ways to do that.

But I found vacuum pump is easiest and cheapest.

You just have to place stopper on top of the bottle and pump it for around 10 times.

You can pump out the air to avoid oxidation of wine.

You can keep your wine fresh for days after opening!

Half Bottle Wine – Yellow Tail Merlot

fullsizeoutput_88e

In Hong Kong, we can buy 375ml half bottle size wines in convenience stores and super markets.

If you want to drink just a glass of wine, it’s very useful.

I found Yellow Tail Merlot in super market and I had with Chinese BBQ pork for dinner.

Fruity and easy drinking dry red wine with black berry, plum, chocolate aromas.

Great match with Chinese food.

Have a nice weekend everyone!  Cheers~☺︎

It’s refleshing dry white wine with aroma of lemon, yellow apple, yellow peach and pineapple.

Main grape variety is Greco.

It’s great to have it with my favourite truffle cheese and sesame grissini.

Have a nice weekend everyone!

Great Wine Movie ‘Premiers Crus’

French movie ‘Premiers Crus’ is one of my favourite movie starring Jalil Lespert.

Story background;

The main character Charlie born in a winery in Burgundy, France.

But he hated restrictions from family business and went to Paris to work as a wine critic and he was successful.

One day, he found out his family winery business is slumping and on the verge of selling business.

Charlie is completely amateur in agriculture and brewing but with the help of his sister and childhood friend he challenges to rebuild the winery using traditional agriculture and wine making method.

The story is talking about family love also some romance aspect with beautiful background of Burgundy.

If you are a wine lover, recommend to watch this movie with a glass of red wine.

Useful App for Wine – Vivino

I think many wine lovers already using this wine app ‘Vivino’.

This app is really useful and I also downloaded it in my mobile and using it often.

After download it, you can just scan the front label of wine with phone camera and you can instantly check the detail of the wine including avarage price, taste characteristic and people’s review about the wine.

You can also drop down your own note/comment and rate the wine for your future reference.

Also you can buy the wine through this app as well.

If you haven’t use it you can try.

Have a nice week ahead everyone!

Delicious Brunch @ Gia Trattoria Italiana

Today, I had semi buffet brunch with my partner in Wanchai, Hong Kong at my favorite Italian restaurant ‘Gia Trattoria Italiana’.

I like this restaurant because food is very authentic Italian also environment is quite quite with nice sea view from window seats.

For main, we had margherita pizza and vongole pasta.

Appetizer and dessert from buffet counter had many choices and all looked really yummy.

Especially they had many kinds of salads, cheeses and cold cuts. And I love their tiramisu!

I drank dry white wine with aroma of lemon, pear, table grape with buttery texture from Cantina di Mogoro in Sardegna island.

Feel very good to drink wine and chilling from Saturday afternoon.
